Website and newsletter

This policy covers GigReviewer.com and the GigReviewer newsletter delivered through Kit.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails and contact us about your personal information.

Third-party platforms

Gig providers, retailers, and external apps handle information under their own privacy policies.

1. Who we are and what this covers

GigReviewer.com is operated by Stratus Analytics LLC. In this policy, “GigReviewer,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Stratus Analytics LLC in connection with the GigReviewer website and newsletter.

GigReviewer publishes reviews, directories, guides, and articles about gig platforms, paid research, usability testing, AI work, microtasks, cashback, and related opportunities. We also promote Click Work resources and link to earnings-tracking tools.

This policy covers information handled through GigReviewer.com, our newsletter subscriptions, resource requests, comments where enabled, and communications with us.

We do not operate the third-party gig platforms we review, employ their participants, or process their work applications and payouts. Their collection and use of information are governed by their own policies.

Other Stratus Analytics LLC services and externally hosted apps may have separate privacy notices. This policy does not replace those notices.

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

When you subscribe through our Kit form, we collect your email address and any additional information you choose to submit. We also receive subscription and confirmation information associated with your signup.

If you contact us, we receive your contact details, the contents of your message, and any attachments you provide. If a resource requires a signup, we use the information submitted to fulfill that request.

Website usage and technical information

Our hosting, security, and measurement services can process information such as IP addresses, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, referring pages, and interactions with website links.

Analytics can also provide information about approximate location, traffic sources, and activity across visits. Cookies and similar identifiers may be used to measure those interactions.

Newsletter activity

Kit processes subscriber records and email-delivery information. Depending on the features and settings used, this can include confirmation status, subscriptions, unsubscribes, bounces, email opens, and link clicks.

Open and click reports are imperfect measurements. Email privacy features and automated security scans can affect what those reports show.

Referral information

Affiliate or referral partners may report qualifying actions, referral rewards, and related transaction information to us. The details available depend on the partner and its program.

3. How we use information

We use information to operate GigReviewer and provide the content or communication you request. This includes:

  • Delivering the newsletter, confirmation messages, and requested digital resources.
  • Responding to questions, corrections, feedback, and privacy requests.
  • Understanding which reviews, guides, and links readers use, and improving the website.
  • Maintaining website security, detecting spam, and investigating misuse.
  • Measuring newsletter performance and referral activity.
  • Keeping appropriate business records and meeting applicable legal obligations.

Newsletter content may include our own products, platform recommendations, and disclosed affiliate or referral offers. You can opt out of marketing emails at any time.

4. Newsletter and free resources

We use Kit to collect newsletter subscriptions and deliver GigReviewer emails. When you submit the newsletter form, your information is transmitted to Kit and stored in our subscriber account.

Our signup offer includes the Click Work digital book. Where email confirmation is required, follow the confirmation message to complete your subscription and access the resource.

By submitting a newsletter signup form, you request the emails described on that form. Requesting a newsletter resource may include subscribing to ongoing GigReviewer emails when the signup page explains that relationship.

Every marketing newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops future marketing sends, but we may retain limited records to honor your preference and prevent accidental resubscription. Unsubscribing is different from requesting deletion.

Kit also processes information for purposes described in its own notices. You can review Kit’s Privacy Policy for more information about its practices.

5. Cookies and analytics

GigReviewer uses WordPress and Google measurement tools, including Google Analytics, to understand website use. Embedded forms and other services may also use cookies, browser storage, pixels, or similar technologies.

These technologies can support website functions, security, traffic measurement, newsletter forms, and referral attribution. Their use depends on the page, service, and settings involved.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics measures activity such as page views, traffic sources, and website interactions. Its measurement uses cookies and similar identifiers. We use the resulting reports to understand readership and improve our content and navigation.

Learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services . Google also provides a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on .

Your cookie choices

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Where a consent or preference tool is available on the website, you can also use that tool. Blocking scripts or cookies may affect embedded forms and other features.

Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not clear website cookies. Browser controls and email subscription controls operate separately.

6. Service providers and disclosures

Running the website and newsletter requires service providers to process information. Our current setup includes HostGator for website hosting, Wordfence for website security, Kit for newsletter forms and email delivery, and Google services for measurement.

These services can receive information needed to deliver their functions, such as network requests, security logs, subscriber records, and usage data. Their processing is subject to the relevant service agreements and privacy notices.

We do not provide our newsletter subscriber list to gig platforms simply because we review them or link to them. If you choose to register with a platform, you provide information to that platform through its own signup process.

We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights or safety, or investigate fraud and security incidents.

If ownership of GigReviewer changes through a business sale, merger, or similar transaction, relevant records may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable requirements.

7. Affiliate links and external purchases

Some GigReviewer links are affiliate or referral links. We may receive compensation when you complete a qualifying action, such as signing up, completing eligible work, or making a purchase. The qualifying conditions depend on the program.

Clicking a tracked link may send referral identifiers and ordinary browser or network information to the destination or referral service. Those services may use cookies or other technologies to attribute the action.

Purchases made through Amazon or another external retailer are handled by that retailer. GigReviewer does not receive your full payment-card details from those purchases.

Affiliate relationships do not give GigReviewer control over a platform’s applications, assignments, payment decisions, or privacy practices. Review the destination’s current terms before providing personal information.

If we introduce display advertising or additional advertising technologies, we will update this policy to describe the relevant practices and choices.

8. Comments and embedded content

Comments

Where comments are enabled, WordPress collects the information entered in the comment form, along with the visitor’s IP address and browser information used for spam detection.

Your submitted display name and approved comment may be visible publicly. Your email address is not intended to be displayed as part of the comment. Avoid posting private account details or other sensitive information.

Where Gravatar is used, a hash of your email address may be sent to that service to check for an associated profile image. An approved comment may display that image. See Automattic’s Privacy Policy .

Embedded and externally loaded content

Pages may load forms, images, videos, or other resources from external services. Loading those resources can transmit your IP address, browser details, and other request information to the provider, even without clicking an outbound link.

Some embedded services may use cookies or record interactions according to their settings and privacy policies.

9. Linked apps and digital tools

GigReviewer links to resources such as the Click Work Tracker and other externally hosted tools. Visiting an app, signing in, or entering earnings records may involve information beyond what is collected when browsing this website.

Review the app’s own privacy information and permissions before using it. This website policy does not fully describe app-account records, authentication, earnings entries, or app-specific storage and deletion practices.

Signing up for the GigReviewer newsletter does not, by itself, create an account on a linked app or authorize a gig platform to receive your subscriber information.

10. Retention and security

We retain information for the purposes described in this policy, including providing subscriptions, answering messages, maintaining security, and keeping necessary business records.

Retention periods vary by record type and service. Subscriber information may remain while you are subscribed. Unsubscribe records may be retained to honor your preferences. Correspondence, security logs, analytics records, and backups follow their relevant business needs and provider settings.

When information is no longer needed, we seek to delete it or remove identifying details, subject to applicable obligations and technical limitations. Backup copies may remain until the backup cycle removes or replaces them.

We use measures intended to protect information, including HTTPS connections and website security tools. No website, email service, or storage system can guarantee complete security.

11. Your choices and privacy requests

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in a newsletter, manage cookies through your browser, and contact us about information associated with you.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Applicable exceptions may limit a request.

Where consent is the basis for processing, you may withdraw it. Withdrawing consent does not change the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.

We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and locate relevant records. Please avoid sending identity documents or sensitive account information unless we explain why they are needed and how to provide them.

Where applicable, you may also contact your local data-protection authority about a privacy concern. Requests concerning a third-party gig platform should be directed to that platform.

12. Children’s privacy

GigReviewer is intended for adults interested in gig work and related resources. The website and newsletter are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age.

If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

13. International visitors

GigReviewer is operated from the United States. Our providers may process and store information in the United States or other countries where they operate.

Those countries may have different privacy laws. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers, the relevant processing must use an appropriate transfer arrangement. You can contact us with questions about the services involved.

14. Changes to this policy

We may revise this policy when our services, providers, data practices, or applicable requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest revision.

Where required, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent for a material change.
