Digivante Review: Real QA Testing, but Check the Pay Against the Effort
Digivante is a real software-testing company with a freelance crowdtesting community. The earning question is whether the payment for accepted work justifies finding issues, reproducing them, gathering evidence, and handling review.
Research-based review using official Digivante pages, dated helpdesk documentation, and one clearly attributed Reddit report. Scott has not personally tested Digivante. The reported £1 bug rate is not verified as a platform-wide rate.
Is Digivante Legit?
Yes. Digivante has an established public testing service and an official freelance tester recruitment process. Its community overview explains how testers’ issues are checked for scope, reproducibility, and duplicates before internal review. That supports the business model; it does not establish that every available assignment pays enough for your time.
Our assessment is selective: consider it if you already have QA skills and can evaluate a project’s actual rates. Do not make the application effort or a promised progression path the reason to accept work that is uneconomic for you now.
The opportunity
A way to apply software-testing skills to client projects as a freelancer, subject to matching and acceptance.
The deciding question
What do you receive for the whole session after preparation, unsuccessful investigation, documentation, and rejected work are included?
What Do Digivante Testers Do?
The recruitment page lists payment for valid issues, successful test cases, and reproductions of reported issues. Think of this as QA work: the deliverable is a usable result for a testing project, rather than simply spending time browsing a site.
Bug reporting
Investigate unexpected behavior and provide a report another person can reproduce. A report needs enough context to be useful, not just a statement that something looked wrong.
Test cases and confirmations
Follow the assigned steps or verify a reported issue on the requested setup. Read the acceptance conditions before assuming a task has a predictable completion time.
Digivante’s 2022 confirmations article describes matching available confirmations to devices and browsers, with screenshot or video evidence. Treat it as explanatory documentation and check your current project instructions.
How Much Does Digivante Pay?
We did not verify a current public rate table covering every tier, project, issue type, or test case. Read the actual project offer before committing. A per-bug amount and an hourly wage are different things: you can spend time investigating without producing an accepted report.
The relevant figures are the rate offered to you, the work that qualifies for that rate, and the full time required. Confirm whether a payment depends on an accepted unique issue, a completed test case, or a reproduction. Also check how duplicates, scope decisions, and review affect eligibility.
Advertised task payment
Useful for understanding what an accepted item could pay, but insufficient for estimating a session’s earnings.
Realized return
Use money received divided by total time invested. Pending items belong in a separate column until the result is final.
What About the Reddit Report of £1 per Bug?
In the Reddit thread that prompted this review, a participant said their first cycle offered £1 per bug regardless of severity and asked whether higher ranks improve pay. This is one person’s account of one cycle. We have not inspected that offer, their account, or a payment record, and it should not be presented as Digivante’s universal pricing.
The report raises a valid evaluation question even without proving a platform-wide rate. If an offer pays only a small amount for an accepted issue, the economics depend heavily on how quickly you can find, document, and get that issue accepted. Rejections and time spent finding nothing reduce the return.
Illustration: what a £1 accepted issue can mean
At a hypothetical £1 per accepted issue, 15 total minutes per accepted result produces £4 per hour; 30 minutes produces £2 per hour. This is simple arithmetic, not a measured Digivante earnings result or a verified rate schedule.
Accepted payments ÷ all time spent = effective hourly return
Does Ranking Up Increase Digivante Pay?
Digivante’s August 2022 community article describes a progression from an unrated tier through higher tiers, with performance and acceptance quality affecting advancement. It says higher tiers receive higher payouts. The article does not supply a current rate table or establish how quickly an individual can advance.
Treat that as evidence that a tier model has been described, not a forecast of your future income. Before accepting low introductory rates in pursuit of progression, find out what requirements and current payments actually apply to your account. Set a limit on the time you are willing to spend learning the platform.
Professional development can have value, but make that choice explicitly. If you are taking an assignment mainly for experience, do not count hoped-for future rewards as payment for today’s work.
Weekly Payouts Do Not Necessarily Mean Immediate Payment
The current recruitment page advertises weekly payments via PayPal or Payoneer. Separately, the payment-process helpdesk article, updated May 2021 describes a minimum 14-calendar-day period after an item is approved before payment eligibility, followed by the payment run. It also notes that an item can be amended or rejected during that period.
Because the operational article is older, confirm the current schedule inside the portal or with support. We have not verified that every detail remains unchanged. The important distinction is between work submission, approval, payment eligibility, the payment run, and receipt of funds.
A July 2020 bug-payment article similarly describes a review process in which the issue classification or validity can change. Use your project’s current appeal and support instructions if a payment changes; do not count a preliminary approval as a guaranteed final payout.
Who Is Digivante For?
The official recruitment page requires applicants to be at least 18, eligible to freelance, able to demonstrate QA experience, and proficient in English. The tester FAQ says the assessment checks English and testing competence. Passing entry requirements does not guarantee a particular project schedule.
- Check that your existing skills fit the work rather than assuming this is an entry-level opinion task.
- List your actual devices and software accurately; project eligibility can depend on them.
- Read the scope, evidence requirements, deadline, and payout before starting a cycle.
- Include setup and reporting time in the decision, not just time spent reproducing the defect.
- Keep client information and test evidence within the project’s authorized channels.
For someone looking for a quick, low-preparation task, the assessment and QA expectations may be a poor fit. For an experienced tester, the question is whether a specific cycle offers an acceptable return.
Digivante Pros & Cons
Reasons to investigate
There is an identifiable company, a defined QA work model, multiple task types, and public material explaining review and progression. Existing testers may value relevant projects and practice.
Reasons to be cautious with your time
No current universal rate table was verified. Investigating and documenting issues can take substantial effort, and acceptance affects earnings. Higher tiers do not guarantee that today’s low-paid cycle is worthwhile.
Our recommendation is to evaluate one suitable cycle with a strict time budget. Keep training or onboarding time separate so you can see both the initial cost and the ongoing return. Stop or decline future work when the actual economics do not fit your goals.
Compare QA Work With Other Testing Formats
Read our uTest review and Ubertesters review to investigate other QA-oriented options. Our UserTesting review covers another testing format, with its own qualification and recording requirements. These are comparisons to research, not a promise that one service will pay you more.
Use the Click Work Tracker to distinguish submitted reports, accepted work, pending payment, and money received. That record is more useful for deciding whether to continue than a platform’s highest advertised earning potential.
Digivante FAQ
Is Digivante a real company?
Yes. Its official site describes a software-testing business and a freelance tester community. Legitimacy and worthwhile pay are separate questions.
Is every bug paid at £1?
We could not verify that. The £1 amount came from one Reddit participant’s reported first cycle and is not presented as a universal rate.
Can higher tiers pay more?
Digivante described higher payouts for higher tiers in a 2022 article. Confirm current tier rules and rates rather than assuming a particular progression or income.
Do you get paid for every hour spent testing?
Do not assume that. The described model pays for qualifying work items; investigation and preparation can consume time without an accepted result.
Has Scott personally tested Digivante?
No. This is a research-based review, using identified official information and an attributed community report.
How quickly does Digivante pay?
Weekly payments are advertised, while older helpdesk guidance describes an approval-to-eligibility wait first. Confirm the current process in your account.
A Real QA Platform That Must Justify Its Rates
Digivante is worth investigating if you have the required testing skills and a project offer that pays adequately for the complete job. We would not make it a priority based on low introductory rates or the hope of higher tiers alone. Confirm the current conditions and let accepted earnings, total effort, and delivered payments determine whether you continue.
